2020: The Year You Finally Quit Making Excuses

We have just entered not just a new year, but a new decade. For 2020, make the commitment to yourself that you will take responsibility for your own health, instead of blaming your busy life or stressful job.

It’s time for a change before the changes happen for the worse, because you neglected to take action when you had the opportunity. We get it - there’s no doubt it is hard to find time to prioritise your health. What you must realise though, is that you must stop wearing your stressful job or long hours spent at work, as a badge of honour. Instead, you need to find time for your own health in your busy schedule. At the end of the day, your health is your responsibility.

At Health Interactions, it’s our job to help educate you on the ecosystem of health, we will help motivate you and hold you accountable. We will create you a toolbox of exercises and programs, that will help you achieve your goals and improve your health. However, it goes without saying that we cannot do the exercise for you. Similar to having a gym membership and never visiting, you are never going to see results if you don’t actually bother. Therefore, it is your responsibility to view your own health as a priority. Relax. It’s not as time-consuming as sounds. All you need to do is follow The Health Advantage Principle, which only requires four hours of your time per week. Given the average human spends over 3 hours a day on social media, 4 hours a week to fix your health really is nothing in comparison!

The breakdown is seen below and requires you to find:

- Time to be grateful and celebrate your wins.

- Time to exercise.

- Time to meditate, be mindful, and/or complete breathing techniques to help

manage and prevent stress.

- Time for planning/preparation of your nutrition for the week.

Now, we understand the mantra “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” - however that does not apply when it relates to your health. A more appropriate saying is “a stitch in time saves nine.” - Aka, less time and money to prevent health concerns now, rather than facing endless health problems in the future. At the end of the day, it does not matter what your job title is or how much money you've saved in the bank, because without your health, you have nothing.
